My editor’s been saying it since the day I showed up in Moses Lake, but, via Romenesko, “GateHouse Media New England publisher Kirk Davis believes small, community newspapers have a competitive advantage over big metros because their locally focused content isn’t available elsewhere.”
Or you can read the whole article here. Truthfully I only skimmed it, but the message is pretty clear.
I went to a seminar on online media at the Seattle Times last year, and got hooted down for saying the exact same thing.
Shows how much they know. At least we know what’s up.
GateHouse Media stock is practically worthless. The company has a short future.
Best not to listen to what anyone from GateHouse has to say about much of anything.
