Reverb11: December 11-15

DECEMBER 11: How are you like your mother? And if you’re a mother, how is/are your kid(s) like you? (via Jessica)

I’m like my mom in more ways than I can count… probably more ways than I’m even aware of. We’re built alike (except she’s skinnier). We’re both short (except she’s taller). We both have control-freak and passive-aggressive tendencies. We hold grudges. We love food.

In Baby E’s 2.5 weeks of life, we have learned that our son sneezes in multiples (like mom), instead of one big sneeze (like dad).

DECEMBER 12: Name and explain the one guilty pleasure you can’t live without. (via Neha)

I go through guilty pleasures in phases. Right now? York peppermint patties. Hooooooly moly.

DECEMBER 13: What are three things that you are better at than most people? (via Catie)

Things I’m good at, maybe even pretty damn good at… but by no means the best at:

    1. Print design (newspapers, brochures, newsletters, etc.)
    2. Sarcasm (even very sarcastic people don’t get my sarcasm sometimes – either that’s a fantastic win or a fantastic fail, it’s a little unclear actually)
    3. My job. I’m actually very, very good at my job.

DECEMBER 14: Is volunteering something you do regularly? If yes, where do you volunteer? If no, why not? (via Kassie)

I don’t know that it technically qualifies as “volunteering,” but I spend quite a bit of time at work (when I’m not on maternity leave… and heck, even now that I AM on maternity leave) unpaid. I do it because I love it, and I’m not going to go into a lot of detail because I don’t like to talk about work here.

DECEMBER 15: Did you taste any new flavors this year? Did you love or hate them or something in between? Will you incorporate these new flavors into your life? (via Bethany)

I had spaetzle for the first time! P had me try it while we were on our honeymoon in Leavenworth. (One of my most favorite places to go EVER, bee-tee-dub.) I LOVED it, despite seriously doubting it would be something I’d enjoy. I’ve spent a lot of time since that weekend in July looking up spaetzle recipes, but I’m way too nervous to try to make it because OMG WHAT IF IT ISN’T AS GOOD AS I REMEMBER?!

This year, I’m taking part in #reverbbroads11. See my #reverb10 posts from last year: Reflect & Manifest: 2010
