Current book(s): I haven’t actually started reading it yet (maybe tomorrow?), but Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy.

Current playlist: Umm, anything including the song “God Gave Me You” by Blake Shelton. Good grief.

Current shame-inducing guilty pleasure: I’m pregnant, therefore I don’t feel guilty about ANYTHING I do. (It’s funny because it’s true.)

Current color: I’ve really been digging navy blue lately, which is weird because I’m usually not into blue much.

Current drink: ICE WATER. I can’t get enough.

Current food: Not a whole lot of anything, actually. This whole five-weeks-to-go-in-my-pregnancy thing has left very little room in my tummy, so even when I do eat, it’s literally only 5-10 bites and I’m F-U-L-L. Zero fun, sir.

Current favorite show: I don’t know that it’s a favorite, per se, but we’ve been watching Breaking Bad. I like it, but it stresses me out.

Current wishlist: One of these…

Current need(s): See above.

Current bane(s) of my existence: Nausea. I’ve been so sick to my stomach the last few weeks, MUCH worse than I ever was when “morning sickness” is supposed to be so prevalent in a pregnancy.

Current celebrity crush: Um? Johnny Depp, always Johnny Depp.

Current outfit: Camo pajama pants and a grey WSU hoodie. I look HAWT.

Current excitement: We have our first childbirth class tomorrow night!

Current link: IwanttogobackhereI’msoexcitedforChristmasomg.

Questions totes yoinked from Megan.

Ten on Tuesday… Or: Blog meme, yay?

… it’s still Tuesday! For a little bit!

This was definitely stolen from Chelsea at Roots and Rings, who got the questions from Sarah at Life at a Different Pace.

Whew. Too many links. Moving on… to the, um, good stuff?

So I’m just supposed to tell which product/brand I use for each of these categories, and why.

1. Cell Phone

I have the Motorola Droid, and yes that means I go through Verizon. I’d love to tell you that we’re with Verizon because I love them or their service is great or their prices are too low to pass up or something, but I can’t. We switched from AT&T to Verizon after I got my new job, because there is no AT&T coverage in my new town. (But try telling THEM that? They didn’t believe me. Some bullshit about not being able to guarantee coverage in buildings. Whatthefuckever, dude.) We probably *should* have made the move to Inland Cellular, which is not a big fatty national brand, but it gets awesome coverage in the area. But. They didn’t have the Motorola Droid and, well, those damn TV commercials worked on me. But I love my phone, so that’s that.

2. Email

Gmail. And yeah, it really is as good as you hear. (Also, I’m a Google whore.)

3. Toothpaste

Colgate? I’m not sure, nor am I picky. I’m pretty sure I just buy Colgate at this point because Colgate is what we had before we ran out… you know?

4. Car

I’ve got a 2001 VW Jetta, which I got in 200…5? 2006? Somewhere right around there. I like my car, and I’d probably LOOOOVE it if I took better care of it.

5. Writing Utensil

Pilot G2. Any color. Currently in my purse is a pink and a purple, with numerous black and blue ones running around the house. Love.

6. Lotion

Lately my skin has been so dry I’ve been using Vaseline Intensive Care with aloe something-or-other. Other than that it’s Bath and Body Works, which I have coming out of my ears because I’ve had multiple family members who have worked there. Also: Victoria’s Secret. Yum.

7. Interior Paint

So, here’s a confession: I’ve never actually painting anything on my own before. I’ve helped other people, yes, but I’ve never gone to the store, picked out the paint, bought it and brought it home before. BUT. I want to. Soon. Like, my office. And maybe some other rooms if I can get over my indecisiveness. So you out there… tell me the good brands of interior paint!

8. Soda/Drink

There are three constants in my life: Mountain Dew, Coors Light and iced tea.

Those making special guest appearances include cream soda, cherry Coke/Pepsi and chocolate milk.

9. Laundry Detergent

Tide Coldwater High Efficiency. There’s really no alternative (okay, for real though there is, I just don’t want to talk about it) with our new Electrolux washer and dryer.

10. Medicine

Just about the only thing I swear by is Excedrin Migraine for my, well, migraines. I’ve had migraines for years and nothing else works as quickly for me.

Everything else I’ll buy whatever’s cheapest. The Boy does like his Advil, though.

{PHOTO… has absolutely nothing to do with this post or my life at all but I like it anyway and I found it here.}

Maybe my favorite ever

Love is a temporary madness, it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides, you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion, it is not the desire to mate every second minute of the day, it is not lying awake at night imagining that he is kissing every cranny of your body. No, don’t blush, I am telling you some truths. That is just being “in love”, which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident.

Learning to write again

I know, memes are SO 2002. Or maybe 2005. Or MySpace. Whatever. I’m low on blog fodder and I’d like to get back to really writing. And I think this project will give me a little push (and also probably send me to places in my memory I’d rather not be, but oh well).

I also know that the Fourth of July weekend might not be the best time to start a project like this, but… oh well. Look for the letters to start tomorrow.

  1. Your best friend
  2. Your crush
  3. Your parents
  4. Your sibling (or closest relative)
  5. Your dreams
  6. A stranger
  7. Your ex-boyfriend/girlfriend/love/crush
  8. Your favorite internet friend
  9. Someone you wish you could meet
  10. Someone you don’t talk to as much as you’d like to
  11. A deceased person you wish you could talk to
  12. The person you hate most/caused you a lot of pain
  13. Someone you wish could forgive you
  14. Someone you’ve drifted away from
  15. The person you miss the most
  16. Someone that’s not in your state/country
  17. Someone from your childhood
  18. The person that you wish you could be
  19. Someone that pesters your mind – good or bad
  20. The one that broke your heart the hardest
  21. Someone you judged by their first impression
  22. Someone you want to give a second chance to
  23. The last person you kissed
  24. The person that gave you your favorite memory
  25. The person you know that is going through the worst of times
  26. The last person you made a pinky promise to
  27. The friendliest person you knew for only one day
  28. Someone that changed your life
  29. The person that you want to tell everything to, but too afraid to
  30. Your reflection in the mirror

Should be interesting, really… first of all, whether I actually finish it or not. I mean, in 30 days. I’ll do them all, eventually (*knock on wood*), it just might take me longer than 30 days. Also it seems that a lot of those days will be duplicate people, and with my memory in its current state (SHIT), some of these days might be pretty difficult to come up with anybody to write to/about.

I heard about this project from l’arte d’arrangiarsi, but I’m sure it’s been every-fucking-where.
